The Cam Caddie Scorpion is a versatile universal camera handle and stabilizer that allows you to maneuver compact cameras such as DSLRs, Mirrorless, and Smartpones the same way as you would a traditional video camcorder. The ergonomic handle is constructed from a lightweight composite and a custom formulated polymer grip, providing a stable and solid platform to comfortably hold and maneuver the camera. You can even mount a DSLR camera perpendicular to the top handle, which positions the back portion of the handle on the side of your camera for two-handed shooting. With our wide range of accessories you can easily mount field recorders, microphones, LED lights, and external monitors.

The Patented design displaces the weight of your gear by separating your hand from directly holding the camera body. When holding the Scorpion and not the camera, motion and movement is naturally dampened. The Scorpion can facilitate moves that look like a professional camera stabilizer or Jib arm.

The Scorpion Utilizes a Specially Formulated Polymer Grip that virtually sticks to your hand. This tacky feel allows the camera operator to confidently float the Scorpion Rig on their fingertips reducing camera shake and vibration.
The Scorpion has a large padded Mounting Plate to ensure you have plenty of room to mount your camera no matter what lens setup you have. The Soft Polymer Pad prevents your camera from moving once you have it locked into position.
You will have 5 3/4 inches of clearance from the Mounting Plate to the Bottom of the Scorpion Handle. The Scorpion is designed to fit most DSLR and Video Cameras. Larger DSLR Cameras like the Canon 7D / 5D or Nikon D810 will also fit along with the Blackmagic 4K.

The unique design has a rotatable shoe plate to ensure that you can quickly switch setups and always configure your gear just the way you like.
The Scorpion Accessory Wing can be used in a variety of ways. It can be used individually, or it can be combined with our Accessory Wing to mount multiple items to the Cam Caddie Scorpion. This unique design provides a great deal of flexibility ensuring you can quickly switch your gear around to fit your needs. The Accessory Wing is adjustable to maximize weight distribution and balance points. It includes 1/4-20 Tripod Mount so that it can be attached directly to a tripod or used in combination with our 1/4-20 Flashner for Standalone use.
The 1/4-20 Flashner converts a standard 1/4-20 tripod mount to a Flash Shoe. Attach any accessory that has a tripod mount directly to the Scorpion Accessory Shoe, Accessory Wing, or camera. The 1/4-20 Flashner also works in combination with the Flashner kits ensuring you can mount everything you need for your next shoot
The 3 Piece Accessory Kit is the perfect addition to the Scorpion & Scorpion EX. With these versatile pieces you can easily mount multiple items directly to the Scorpion/EX. The 1/4-20 Flashner can be used to mount accessories like a field recorder while the Accessory Shoe and Accessory Wing can be combined to offer an endless variety of mounting options for lights and microphones.
The Scorpion Lockout Kit creates a solid platform for heavier cameras and configurations. The Lock Out Kit eliminates the dampening effect that is designed into the Scorpion/EX. This is achieved by connecting the cameras built in Flash Shoe with the bottom side of the Scorpion handle. This eliminates the dampening action allowing you to attach multiple heavy accessories for an endless variety of configurations. Primarily designed to work with DSLRs the Lockout Kit will also work with many video cameras.
The Stabilizing Weight is a 1 lb. weight that can be used to help counter balance the weight of your camera gear so that you can perfectly balance the Scorpion/EX to your needs. The new cameras have become so compact and lightweight that by adding a little extra weight to your camera rig it's easier to make smooth and steady camera movements. The Weight is a must have when filming fast action with lots of movement like Skateboarding.
United Statesfirst off received caddie in record time after placing the order. I just finished filming a golf tournment last weekend. I did several low angle shots of the crowd. I am using a canon camcorder. The caddie is very easy to use, well balanced and sure saves the back as I didnt have to be bending over or stooping down for shots. Gives your films a new prospective. I would recomend the caddie to anyone who likes making , say home movies of the kids, pets, ect.
